6 - 0

Thats the current record of the men's team after beating Adamson University last Sunday. Even though several of our boys [men?] were playing under the weather, they prevailed over the Adamson Falcons in five very exciting sets.

Aside from the usual suspects, we saw Sonny Uy [with Audrey and their daughter] at the games. Sayang they weren't able to finish the game...

Calling all alumni!

Big game this Sunday! The boys will be playing against FEU! Remember last year? Well, we need revenge! hehehe... It would be great if we came in full-force once again. Lunch, picture-taking and inuman afterwards! :D The boys are playing at 8:30 am and the girls at 9:30. Mabuti na rin na maaga umpisahan ang inuman... heeheehee

UP Spikers, Adu cagebelles stay unbeaten

Reposted from The Philippine Star 08/03/05

University of the Philippines' men's team remained the only team unbeaten squad in UAAP Season 68 volleyball as Adamson U's women yeilded to the Far Eastern Tamaraws Sunday at the UP Human Kinetics gym.

The Maroons, second-placers last season, found National U's Bulldogs a tough customer though, needing four sets to snatch their fourth straight win in 76 minutes, 25-14, 24-26, 25-15, 25-23.

The Lady Falcons, fifth last year, took their first loss at the hands of the Lady Tamaraws in a one-hour, 43-minute 5-setter, 16-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-21, 15-7, to forge a triple tie for the women's volleyball lead.

[NOTE: rest of the article was omitted because it had nothing to do with volleyball, hehehe...]

Adamson, UP pace UAAP volley

Reposted from The Philippine Star 07/29/2005

De La Salle and Santo Tomas U are winning again but Adamson U remained unscathed on top in UAAP Season 68 womenís volleyball Wednesday at the University of the Philippines gym in Diliman.

Tournament host UP also got the solo lead in menís action as defending champion Far Eastern U got stunned by UST in four sets.

The Lady Archers, the reigning champions, had to struggle though past the Lady Tamaraws, 25-11, 25-16, 20-25, 25-12 in a 70-minute action for their second win in three matches, the same record as their victims and the Lady Maroons.

UST is now 1-2 also in the womenís side after beating University of the East also in four sets, 25-19, 23-25, 25-23, 25-22.

Adamsonís ladies are comfortably ahead with 3-0 won-lost with a methodical 25-16, 25-14, 25-21 victory over National U, while Ateneo caught a napping UP, which stunned De La Salle last Sunday, 25-19, 25-15, 25-21.

UP needed 64 minutes in snatching its third straight win at the expense of De La Salle, 25-20, 25-19, 25-14, for the solo menís division lead.

Adamson downed Ateneo, 25-23, 25-15, 25-22, and UE stopped NU, 20-25, 25-15, 22-25, 25-18, for 2-3 win-loss records, the same as FEU, which yielded to UST also Wednesday, 25-22, 25-12, 22-25, 25-13.

UAAP: Upsets rock volleyball but seeds top women caging

Reposted from The Philippine Star 07/26/2005

Shockers marked the resumption of UAAP Season 68 womenís volleyball action Sunday at the University of the Philippines gym in Diliman while the seeds in womenís basketball booked expected wins at the Adamson U gym in San Marcelino.

Adamson University served notice of its strength in womenís volleyball by stunning a listless defending champion De La Salle in a one-hour, 11-minute encounter, 25-20, 25-23, 13-25, 20-25, 15-13, for the Lady Falconsí second straight win and the Green Archersí second loss in two outings.

Santo Tomas U, runner-up last season, continued to miss the services of its stalwarts who have graduated, and took its second straight setback this time at the hands of UP, 25-22, 25-16, 10-25, 17-25, 15-10.

Joining UP with a 2-0 card were the University of the East Red Skirts, who beat the Ateneo Lady Eagles, 25-18, 25-22, 23-25, 26-24, and the Far Eastern Lady Tamaraws, who downed National U, 25-6, 25-15, 25-11.

Defending menís volleyball titlist FEU beat Adamson, 25-19, 14-25, 25-18, 20-25, 16-14, for a 2-0 record, the same slate as UP, a 25-20, 25-22, 25-18 winner over UE. The other menís volleyball results saw UST defeat Ateneo, 25-10, 25-15, 25-8, and De La Salle down NU, 25-23, 25-22, 25-22.

Adamson U made mincemeat of UE, 79-42, putting the Lady Falcons on track to defending their womenís basketball crown. Merenciana Arayi topscored with 21 points and hauled down 12 rebounds, Jenalyn Constantino had 15 points and five rebounds and Uniza Cenita 12 for the Lady Falcons.

Ateneo, second-placer last year, had nine players suiting up against FEU also in womenís basketball but still wound up with a 41-38 squeaker with Stephanie Lee Villanueva shooting 13 and Christine Chua 10 for the Lady Eagles.

In the other womenís basketball match, UP won by default over De La Salle, 2-0.

The UAAP, meanwhile, announced the scheduled matches for Aug. 4 and 6 originally scheduled at the Blue Eagle Gym on Katipunan will be played at the Araneta Coliseum instead. This is to provide a bigger venue for the basketball competitions which are commanding bigger audience lately.

Two - Zero

YahooYes, thats the record of BOTH the men's and women's teams thus far in the season!

The boys finished their game in 3 sets...

The girls, susmariosep! Their game gave our hearts a great workout!  Many of us couldn't keep stilll... couldn't decide whether to rest our hearts [and throats] outside for some air [and smokes...] or stay put. Haaaay... talk about a cardiac game!

According to age ba ito? Hehehe... Anyways, the oldies-but-goodies we spotted there were Rupert Acuna, Ces Espiritu, Fe Mejia, Reyvic Cerilles, Mandy Araneta, Ariel, Leo, Nicolo, Neome [with her overgrown rat, hehe], Carol, Ronald Mauricio, Allen & Plot.

Again, if we forgot to mention your name, nagmala-Rodmark kayo at magreklamo, heeheehee...

How come the webbies I used to get articles from  to re-post here aren't active anymore? Is the UAAP webby upkeep dependent on the host? Grrr.... Unfair, puro basketball ang updates...

Excting games tomorrow!
